Our heritage

Founded in 1911 and first registered in 1926 as United Molasses, the UM Group has successfully grown in multiple business sectors through the building of effective long term working partnerships at both local and global levels throughout the world.

In January 2024 the UM Group swapped its 50% shareholding in Andean Life USA in return for a majority shareholding in Andean Life Europe

In November 2022, UM sells the assets and goodwill of Advanced Liquid Feeds Ltd

In December 2020, UM Group acquires the remaining 50% shareholdings in United Molasses (Ireland) Ltd and Premier Molasses and becomes the sole shareholder of these businesses.

In December 2018 the UM Group acquires a 50% interest in Andean Life, a niche importer and distributor of organic and speciality sugar products into the USA and Europe with offices in Miami and London.
